About the Opportunity
As a Principal Operational Vendor Manager of our SDPR, you will lead the development and management of a portfolio of external IT services, ensuring operational excellence and strategic alignment across NSW Health.

This role offers the opportunity to drive vendor governance and service delivery performance, guiding negotiations, managing strategic supplier relationships, and producing high-quality insights for senior leadership. You will work with tools and frameworks that support IT Service Management, Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and performance metrics, while collaborating with NSW Health entities and external partners to create consistent, scalable vendor management practices.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the development and management of the SDPR Operational Vendor Management function, overseeing a portfolio of external IT services throughout their lifecycle.
  • Drive operational efficiencies and provide strategic advice through expert commercial, technical, and professional capability.
  • Guide negotiations and foster long-term supplier relationships, managing expectations and resolving conflicts effectively.
  • Deliver high-quality insights and authoritative advice on supplier service delivery performance to senior leadership.
  • Collaborate with NSW Health entities and external partners to build consistent, scalable vendor management practices and uplift resilience.

About You
We are looking for someone who has:

  • Proven experience in vendor management and IT service delivery, with strong commercial and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to build strategic relationships and influence stakeholders across complex, multi-entity environments.
  • Strong analytical and reporting capability, providing insights and authoritative advice to senior leadership.
  • Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills, with a focus on collaboration and long-term partnerships.
  • Knowledge of IT Service Management frameworks and supplier governance, ideally within large-scale or healthcare settings

You will succeed in this role if you:

  • Enjoy working in an environment where no two days are the same.
  • Are motivated by tight deadlines and problem solving on the go.
  • Can juggle multiple priorities while staying calm and outcome focused.
  • Thrive when collaborating with others to deliver results in a fast moving space.
