Where You’ll Be Working
Join the Acute Care Team within the Hunter Valley Lower Mid North Coast Mental Health Service, delivering timely outpatient care across the Hunter Valley and Lower Mid North Coast regions. This collaborative, supportive team provides consultation, assessment, treatment and follow-up for adults and their families, with a strong focus on recovery, hospital-to-home transitions, medication monitoring, psychoeducation and relapse prevention. Working a dynamic 7-day rotating roster, you'll partner with local services to ensure seamless, person-centred continuity of care in a meaningful community setting.
About the Role
As a Registered Nurse – Acute Care Team, you'll contribute clinical expertise to a multidisciplinary team, delivering high-quality, contemporary care including intake, early intervention, shared care coordination and trauma-informed support. You'll build therapeutic relationships with consumers and families/carers, apply recovery-focused principles, and communicate effectively across stakeholders to optimise outcomes. Directly supported by senior leaders including the Manning Service Manager and the broader Manning Mental Health team, this role offers variety, impact and the chance to grow within acute outpatient mental health practice.
About You
You're a passionate, motivated mental health nurse who values person-centred, family-inclusive care and thrives in a collaborative multidisciplinary environment. You bring strong interpersonal skills, a trauma-informed approach and confidence navigating complex situations, with a commitment to recovery, relapse prevention and positive therapeutic relationships.
You bring:
- Current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
- Demonstrated experience in mental health nursing (or strong interest and eagerness to develop skills in this area)
- Eligibility to drive in NSW and willingness to travel across the region for work
- Ability to work day and afternoon shifts across a 7-day rotating roster
- Proven capacity for multidisciplinary teamwork, effective communication and trauma-informed practice
