An excellent opportunity is available to join the team of Midwives at Nepean Post Natal ward in a part time assignment working up to 4 days a week.
A Registered Midwife ensures optimal outcomes for women and their families of the service through the promotion of best practice including the appropriate escalation of care. The role will see you work collaboratively utilising effective team communication with members of the multidisciplinary health team in the planning, implementation, assessment and evaluation of patient care.
At all times, you will act as an advocate for the specific needs of all women and their families including those from the indigenous population or other multi-cultural groups providing appropriate care to the woman undergoing specialised procedures. As a Registered Midwife, you will maintain and promote a professional standard evidenced by ethical midwifery practice, adherence to the policies and procedures of the Nursing and Midwifery Service, NMBLHD and the appropriate legislation and statutory regulations. What you will bring to the role:
- Current registration with AHPRA Registered Midwife (division 1)
- Demonstrated recent experience and clinical skill in midwifery, including completion of a new graduate year or equivalent experience in Midwifery
- Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work
- Demonstrated evidence of being able to provide woman centred care
- Demonstrated effective communication skills – written and verbal
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development
- Ability to work a flexible roster, day, evening or night shift across all days of the week according to the unit/service requirements
- Experience working in a multidisciplinary team environment
