The Nepean Campus has recently experienced tremendous growth and aims to support communities within and outside of Sydney’s western suburbs, providing world-class clinical facilities, services, and care.
An exciting opportunity is now available for a Registered Midwife to join the team in the Outpatients Department at Nepean Hospital in a Temporary Part time position to cover maternity leave for 2 days a week.
This role will see you ensure optimal outcomes for women and their families of the service through the promotion of best practice including the appropriate escalation of care and to work collaboratively utilising effective team communication with members of the multidisciplinary health team in the planning, implementation, assessment and evaluation of patient care.
Your position as a Registered Midwife with NBMLHD will act as an advocate for the specific needs of all women and their families including those from the indigenous population or other multi-cultural groups providing appropriate care to the woman undergoing specialised procedures, and maintain and promote a professional standard evidenced by ethical midwifery practice, adherence to the policies and procedures of the Nursing and Midwifery Service, NMBLHD and the appropriate legislation and statutory regulations.

What you will bring to this role:
- Current registration to practice as a Registered Midwife (Division 1) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA)
- Demonstrated recent experience and clinical skills in Midwifery including antenatal care
- Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work
- Demonstrated evidence of being able to provide women centred care
- Demonstrated effective communication skills – written and verbal
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Current driver’s licence and willingness to use for work purpose travel
