About the role

We are seeking an energetic and experienced Senior Project Officer to join our fast paced, dynamic team. The role will support key program activities focused on clinical trial engagement, awareness, recruitment, and retention across the sector. Responsibilities include procurement, project management, administration, and the implementation of the Rural, Regional and Remote Clinical Trial Enabling Program within the Office for Health and Medical Research. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to strengthening clinical trials infrastructure in rural and regional communities.

Crown Clerk 9/10, starting salary from $129,464 - $142,665 plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 35-hour work week. The role works in a hybrid working environment, with a minimum of 5 days per fortnight at the office, located at 1 Reserve Road, St Leonards.

What you'll be doing

  • Lead end‑to‑end project delivery, including planning, procurement, resource coordination, budget management, and reporting for assigned projects.
  • Prepare high‑quality reports, briefs, correspondence, and provide secretariat support to committees and advisory groups.
  • Support Key Activity 2 of the program, focused on clinical trial engagement, awareness, recruitment, and retention.
  • Monitor and evaluate project delivery, managing risks, benefits realisation, quality, and alignment with Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) grant requirements and milestones. 
     


About you
We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with:

  • Demonstrated capability to plan and manage complex projects end‑to‑end, supported by relevant tertiary qualifications and/or substantial experience, delivering outcomes within time, budget, and quality requirements 
  • Proven experience in the clinical trials sector, with strong written and verbal communication skills to provide clear, accurate, and timely advice to a range of audiences
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, collaboration and consultation skills, with the ability to build and maintain productive relationships across diverse partners, including rural and regional clinical trial stakeholders 
  • Highly organised and adaptable, able to work independently and as part of a small, dynamic team, manage competing priorities, and operate effectively in complex environments
  • Experience in government, procurement, and multicultural consultation is an advantage
