Nepean Hospital is a teaching hospital that provides tertiary referral services in emergency care, coronary care, diagnostics, gynaecology, paediatric, neonatal intensive care/ICU, maternity, mental health, rehabilitation, and surgery. We are seeking motivated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Maternity Ward on a 2-year temporary contract, with a supported pathway to become a Registered Midwife through the MidStart Program at the end of the contract.

This is an exciting opportunity for Nurses who are passionate about women’s health and maternity care and are looking to progress their career into Mdwifery within a supportive clinical environment. As a Registered Nurse in our Maternity Ward, you wil provide high-quality, woman-centred care to mothers, babies, and families, work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary Maternity team and develop foundational Maternity Nursing skills and clinical knowledge.

What you will bring to the role

  1. Current registration to practice as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA)
  2. Demonstrated experience and clinical skill as a Registered Nurse (including completion of a new graduate year or equivalent experience working as a registered Nurse).
  3. Demonstrated capacity to provide effective nursing care that is person centred, family inclusive and culturally sensitive to people accessing health services.
  4. Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work
  5. Demonstrated effective communications written and verbal skills
  6. Demonstrated commitment to professional development
  7. Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team
  8. Ability to work a flexible roster, day evening or night shift across all days of the week.
