Lead and deliver high-quality Occupational Therapy care to patients with life-limiting conditions, driving best-practice outcomes in a specialised palliative care setting.

What you'll be doing 
In this pivotal role, you will provide high-quality Occupational Therapy services to patients requiring ongoing specialised palliative care support. You will use advanced clinical reasoning, independent decision-making and a holistic approach to deliver exceptional care, while contributing to service development and improved patient outcomes.


Your responsibilities will include:

·       Assessing, planning, and delivering evidence-based Occupational Therapy interventions aligned with APHRA, OTA, NSW Health and WSLHD standards

·       Managing complex clinical presentations using advanced professional judgement

·       Collaborating with clients, families, multidisciplinary teams, community services and external partners to ensure coordinated, culturally sensitive care

·       Maintaining accurate documentation and ensuring best-practice communication across care teams

·       Leading quality improvement activities, supporting policy development, and contributing to enhanced service delivery

Essential Criteria:

·       Qualification: Bachelor or post Graduate degree in Occupational Therapy 

·       Registration: APHRA registration required 
 

Selection Criteria: 

1.     Current registration to practice as an Occupational Therapist with APHRA.

2.     Current class C driver's licence.

3.     Significant post-graduate clinical experience in Occupation Therapy including acute care, complex discharge planning and palliative care.

4.     Demonstrated ability to work both independently with minimum direct clinical supervision and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

5.     Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills including conflict resolution skills.

6.     Demonstrated high level time management and organisational skills in an environment of competing clinical/administrative demands.

7.     Demonstrated experience in designing, implementing and participating in Quality Improvement initiatives.
