About the Role:
As the Clinical Nurse Unit Manager (CNUM) for the Renal Unit, you will play a critical role in leading a dedicated team of nursing professionals. Your day-to-day duties will involve supervising, supporting, and guiding nursing staff, ensuring the highest standard of patient care within the unit. You will be the go-to expert for your team, offering advice and direction in relation to patient management and care. This is a full-time role, with shifts based on the operational needs of the Renal Unit. Hours are flexible to ensure coverage across all shifts and to maintain an efficient service delivery.
Located at the Maitland Hospital, you will also coordinate the service delivery and patient flow through the Maitland unit, working in close collaboration with the wider John Hunter Hospital Dialysis Service. This involves communicating effectively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure that patient assessments and treatments are conducted in a timely and efficient manner. Some travel between Maitland Unit and other parts of the John Hunter Hospital Dialysis Service may be required to ensure smooth patient flow and coordinated care.
You won’t be working alone. You’ll be supported by the Nurse Manager and Senior Nursing Leadership Team, and will enjoy being part of a supportive and dynamic multidisciplinary team where your contributions and expertise are valued. You will also work closely with other Clinical NUMs, CNCs, CNEs and as a group provide expert advice to other clinical services.

The Maitland hospital has now transitioned to a new facility in January 2022 with state of the art technology in patient care. The hospital has been built to provide patients with high quality care in a modern and comfortable environment and it embraces technology and innovation, allowing staff new, improved ways to work that will deliver better health outcomes.

Requirements:
- Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA with relevant post graduate qualifications in management or speciality with a demonstrated commitment to professional development.
