What you'll be doing
This position is responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient management of Waiting Lists and elective admissions within the Admissions and Bookings Office, providing professional, high-quality customer support for patients and staff.
Manage the administrative processing of elective admissions through receipt and processing of Recommendation for Admission (RFA) forms, checking forms for compliance, entering data onto the electronic Waiting List and booking clinic and theatre appointments.
Liaise with medical, nursing and administrative staff both within the hospital and from external services including private consulting rooms, community health services and correctional services.
Utilise highly developed customer relations skills to deliver a positive customer experience whilst demonstrating empathy, compassion and respect in all interactions, being sensitive to the diversity of cultural backgrounds within our community.
Monitor and audit Waiting Lists on a daily, weekly and monthly basis in accordance with relevant policies and procedures including NSW Health Waiting Time and Elective Surgery Policy.
Identify obstacles to optimal service delivery, suggest initiatives to improve processes and implement new ways of working whilst protecting patient privacy and confidentiality in all activities.

Relevant experience in admissions and bookings processes.
Experience with computerised patient administration systems.
Sound knowledge of NSW Health Waiting Time and Elective Surgery Policy.
Experience in a customer service role demonstrating effective interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to work productively within a team, and to work autonomously when required.
Demonstrated time management and organisational skills to manage competing priorities.
Demonstrated understanding of Medical Terminology.
