Where you’ll be working


You’ll be part of the close-knit Administration Team within our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Close Observation Unit—small acute care units where collaboration and teamwork thrive. These wards are frontline services, providing critical support in a multidisciplinary environment.

Our hospital strongly supports cultural diversity, with spaces like the Aboriginal Cultural Room and Yarning Circle, and active participation in events such as NAIDOC Week. Many team members are also involved in the Closing the Gap Committee, reflecting our commitment to inclusivity and cultural celebration.



What you’ll be doing

As a Ward Clerk, you will:

  • be welcoming visitors, managing inquiries, and giving directions in these secure wards.
  • Work closely with the Clinical Support Officer (CSO), Nursing Unit Manager (NUM), and medical teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ensure patient privacy and confidentiality while demonstrating compassion, empathy, and sensitivity in all interactions.
  • Contribute to a supportive and culturally aware workplace that celebrates diversity.

  •  Excellent communication skills and the ability to “read the room.”
  • A genuine attitude of compassion and empathy. 
  • Strong observational skills and a conscientious approach to privacy and confidentiality.
  • A willingness to provide exceptional customer service.
