What you'll be doing
The primary purpose of the Trainee is to participate in the care of patients before, during and after radiotherapy in the radiation oncology department of Mid North Coast Cancer Institute (MNCCI) Port Macquarie working with five radiation oncologists, four other trainee's and interacting in a large and busy regional cancer centre.
Provision of high quality and consistent medical service to patients and co-ordination of clinical management, in order to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
The trainee will provide onsite medical support of the outpatients and inpatients under the Radiation Oncologists and to gain education and experience in Radiation Oncology.

- Registration with the Medical Board of Australia. To be appointed as a Registrar requires 3 years' experience in a public hospital service as defined under the Award.
- Demonstrated commitment to rural and regional health with an understanding of the health requirements of these communities.
- Experience working in Radiation Oncology preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment utilising excellent clinical skills (at the required level of competency), judgement and expertise.
- Demonstrated teamwork, time management and problem solving skills as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- A professional attitude and flexibility in work role with preparedness and ability to participate in afterhours overtime and on-call rosters and the required rotations between services and geographical location to deliver patient care (including rural locations).
- Demonstrated excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and computer skills.
- Current drivers licence
