About the opportunity

An exciting opportunity exists to join our high performing Clinical IT Operations Team! We are recruiting a Temporary Full-Time, Technology Specialist.

This is a Sydney or Newcastle-based role, with flexibility regarding the onsite location. In addition to this we offer flexible working arrangements which includes up to two days per week working from home. The position has been created to support a new project to deploy digital Haematology morphology scanners in a considerable number of laboratories across the state. For that reason, some travel will also be required.

We operate more than 60 laboratories and around 200 collection centres across NSW and conduct over 60 million tests per annum. Our network of pathologists are supported by scientists, technicians and support staff who quickly and accurately assess samples so clinical teams can make the best possible treatment decisions for patients. We encourage our staff to be involved in research and innovation opportunities to help create safer, healthier communities. Our Forensic & Analytical Science Service provides independent, objective analysis to the NSW criminal and coronial justice system.

What you'll be doing

  • Ensure that technology is implemented, developed and maintained to ensure that it meets business needs. This Includes configuration, problem management, change management and project support.
  • Provide a timely response to the resolution of problems related to technology systems.
  • Maintain and improve relationships with customers and vendors, enabling improved service delivery.

  1. Relevant tertiary qualifications in Computer Science or Information Technology or demonstrated experience and expertise supporting technology systems.
  2. Experience and/or expertise in the core technologies common in a diagnostic pathology setting, including server/workstation operating systems, basic networking, desktop hardware support, SQL and other scripting languages, database administration, system monitoring tools, code management tools such as GITHub, etc.
  3. Experience supporting, or knowledge of integration platforms such as MuleSoft, Rhapsody and eGate.
  4. Demonstrated understanding of project management fundamentals and experience working on projects.
  5. Demonstrable analytical and problem solving ability.
  6. Demonstrated ability to work both in a team and individually.
  7. Excellent communication and negotiation skills and a demonstrable commitment to provide high quality customer focused services.
  8. Experience using, or knowledge of, issues tracking and project-management software application such as Atlassian JIRA and Confluence environment.
