About the role:
You will primarily be based at John Hunter Hospital, Newcastle for this full time (5 days per week) role. However, you may also be required to travel and work in Tamworth from time to time. You will join a collaborative and committed team that provides services across 35 primary, secondary and tertiary hospitals and community health facilities using the latest in Medical Imaging Technology. This encompasses Bone, PET, Theranostics, CT, BMD, Lung, Parathyroid, Gallium and Thyroid scanning, Cardiac, Renal, Brain and Biliary Imaging, Cardiac Stress Testing, Gastric studies and Lymphoscintigraphy.
We have an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and friendly departmental staff, committed to a strong team. Working in Nuclear Medicine here can be challenging, but also satisfying and valuable, with great clinical connections with the many subspecialty teams at our sites. We collaborate with the University of Newcastle which has both a Radiation Science and Medical School benefiting from various students, and teaching opportunities.
Hunter New England Imaging comprises of the Divisions of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine which together provide a complete range of training modalities including General Radiology, Fluoroscopy, Tomography, Angiography, Interventional Procedures, MRI, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine and PET.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
Primary medical degree registrable with AHPRA
Fellowship in Nuclear Medicine or dual qualified Radiologist with Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists
Recent and comprehensive experience in Nuclear Medicine and/or Radiology
Credentialed as a provider of specialist PET services by Joint Nuclear Medicine Credentialing and Accreditation Committee (JNMCAC)
