A fantastic opportunity has now become available for a Security Officer to join the Security Services team in a Permanent Full time role located at Nepean Hospital.
The primary purpose of a Security Officer is to maintain a safe environment for staff, volunteers, contractors, patients and visitors.
You role will conduct security patrols of the building and grounds of the NBMLHD facility, escort staff and visitors as necessary; deny entry to persons without authority to enter and assist with management of aggressive and/or difficult people to ensure a safe and secure environment. You will be required to conduct security reports/audits and security duties in accordance with the Security Industry Act and relevant policies and procedures.

What you will bring to the role
- Must have Certificate 2 in Security Operations with a current NSW Security Licence class 1A, and current First Aid Certificate.
- Effective experience working in a similar role.
- Demonstrated experience in responding to a variety of changing and challenging situations.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with all levels of managers, staff and a diverse range of patients and members of the public.
- Must be able to effectively work independently and as part of a multi discplinary team.
- Practical knowledge of security equipment including CCTV operations and access control systems.
- Capability and availability to participate in a 24 hour/seven-day rotating roster.
Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified and must not exceed the duration or conditions associated with the current visa.
