This role has various Permanent Full Time and Part Time positions available. Part Time positions are with varying hours.


The Shoalhaven Acute Geriatric Unit (SAGU) is an 11 bed unit that house patients with complex behavioural conditions such as Dementia & BPSD. Experience in these areas is preferred but not essential. SAGU also encourages applicants to apply who have worked in Dementia & BPSD related fields as part of their 1 year post graduate employment. This is also preferred but not essential.


What you'll be doing

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the provision of person centred; evidence- based nursing care that promotes positive health outcomes. The Registered nurse will assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care incollaboration with individuals and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.

The Registered Nurse will work in therapeutic and professional relationships with individuals, as well as families, groups and communities. The Registered Nurse will assist in the provision of supervision and support for less experienced clinicians and will maintain their professional accountability and development in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Board Australia's Standards of Practice.

Selection Criteria:

  1. Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse (Division 1).
  2. A minimum of one (1) year full-time postgraduate employment (or 1982 hours part time/casual) within Australia.
  3. Recent clinical experience in a health care setting.
  4. Demonstrated understanding of evidence based practice and critical thinking.
  5. Demonstrated commitment to person centred care and NSW Health Core Values.
  6. Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills.
  7. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  8. Computer literacy and understanding of relevant health related information systems.
