As a Registered Nurse with our team, you'll play a key role in delivering safe, compassionate, and person-centred care, working closely with patients, families, carers, and the multidisciplinary team to achieve impactful outcomes.
In this role, you'll thrive within a collaborative case management and multidisciplinary framework, where teamwork with families, carers, and service providers is essential to providing evidence-based, recovery-focused care that values the lived experiences of those we serve.
From day one, you'll receive a comprehensive orientation, including dedicated meetings with our leadership team during your first three months. You'll be supported by a clinical supervisor and mentor to ensure a smooth transition into your new role. Where you'll be working:
You’ll be joining the Lake Macquarie Mental Health Service, a key part of the Greater Newcastle Mental Health network, proudly serving the communities of Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, and Port Stephens. Our well-established Community Mental Health Team is dedicated to providing comprehensive support and rehabilitation to individuals, families, and carers impacted by mental health challenges.
Our multidisciplinary team is composed of highly skilled professionals, including Nurses, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Dietitians, and Psychiatrists, all working together to deliver outstanding mental health care. We are recognised within Hunter New England Mental Health for fostering a supportive and educational environment, making it an ideal place for career development.
The Lake Macquarie Mental Health Service operates from a state-of-the-art, purpose-built facility that houses our Community Mental Health, Older Persons Mental Health, and Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services. Conveniently located near major shopping areas with easy parking access, it also provides quick and direct routes to the Newcastle City Bypass and Pacific Highway, ensuring a seamless commute.
About you:
- You bring experience in managing acute mental health disorders, including conducting assessments, developing care plans, and delivering evidence-based interventions.
- With the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, you efficiently prioritise tasks to manage competing demands.
- Your strengths lie in formulating comprehensive risk assessments and creating safety plans to address potential risks of harm to self or others.
- As a team player with excellent time management skills, you're committed to continuous learning and providing exceptional care to patients, families, and carers.
Requirements:
- Registered Nurse with current authority to practice with AHPRA.
- Eligible to drive in NSW and willingness to travel for work.
