About The Opportunity 
The role of the Midwife within the Antenatal Clinic involves providing women centered care in an outpatient setting, and collaborating with the multidisciplinary team. 

There is an opportunity to work across all areas of the Antenatal Clinic including midwifery clinics, after hours clinics, outreach community clinics, collaborative care clinics, Parent Education, Fetal Maternal Assessment Unit (FMAU) and Early Pregnancy Assessment Service (EPAS).

 

What You'll Be Doing
The midwife is a responsible and accountable professional who works in partnership with women to give the necessary support, care and advice during pregnancy, labour and the postpartum period, to conduct births on the midwife's own responsibility and to provide care for the newborn and the infant.

  1. Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Midwife with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  2. Demonstrated recent experience as a Registered Midwife in an environment appropriate to the relevant specialty
  3. Demonstrated ability to provide safe compassionate quality care that is culturally responsive
  4. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, families, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team to identify and ensure responsiveness of care needs
  5. Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and personally resolve conflicts when they arise
  6. Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking as it relates to the delivery of evidenced based midwifery care
  7. Demonstrated understanding and participation in risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace.
  8. Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
