The Role 

Partnering with consumers is a fundamental and essential part of designing and delivering excellent clinical services, underpinned by the National Safety and Quality Health Services Standards, Standard 2, Prison Health Standards and the Australian Charter of Healthcare Rights. The Program Manager Consumer Experience is a key leadership role, in the Clinical Governance Team, focused on delivering on objectives in relation to the consumer agenda, patient engagement and experience. This portfolio is inclusive of developing, implementing, and maintaining governance, systems, and processes to partner with consumers and improve patient engagement and experience, and oversight of the consumer feedback management system.

Essential requirements 

·       Relevant tertiary qualification, or equivalent work experience, or a combination of study and work experience including proven track record of senior management experience across a broad range of health service functions.

·       Demonstrated high level oral and written communication skills, consultation, negotiation, facilitation, presentation, consensus building and stakeholder management skills, with the capacity to produce comprehensive service and strategic reports and directions.

·       Sound understanding of clinical governance structures including performance indicators, clinical audit processes and clinical risk management frameworks.

·       Current unrestricted drivers’ licence with the ability and willingness to drive/travel as the role requires across NSW.

·       Personal experience of mental health or drug and alcohol challenges, service use or custody and periods of healing/personal recovery, with a ability to use Lived and Living Experience to lead and inform practice.
