An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced primary care emergency Physiotherapist with a passion for person-centred care and quality improvement, to join The Sutherland Hospital Physiotherapy and Exercise Physiology Department.

You will be working at The Sutherland Hospital, a large metropolitan hospital that provides inpatient, outpatient and community health services to people residing in the Sutherland Shire local government area.

The level 4 RESHAP-ED Physiotherapist is responsible for providing high quality primary practice physiotherapy services to patients presenting to The Sutherland Hospital Emergency Department, and for coordinating the RESHAP-ED clinical trial at The Sutherland Hospital. The clinician will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to assess and treat patients presenting to The Sutherland Hospital Emergency Department as appropriate for primary physiotherapy management, consistent with NSW Health and South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) policies, procedures and standards. This role is also an investigator in the RESHAP-ED trial and works together with the University of Sydney Cooperative Research Group (CRG) to meet objectives of the trial.

Selection Criteria:
1. Qualifications in accordance with Schedule C of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award and the Physiotherapy Board of Australia, and demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional learning.
2. Extensive post graduate clinical experience in primary care emergency physiotherapy with demonstrated ability to provide consultation within and external to the organisation.
3. Excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders including research bodies, throughout all organisational levels.
4. Demonstrated ability to provide high level clinical advice, and development of education tools or programs to support others in providing service excellence.
5. Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to apply advanced reasoning skills and independent professional judgement when dealing with situations of a novel, complex or critical nature.
6. Demonstrated ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes.
7. Demonstrated experience in providing advice to managers on clinical service development, practice change and service redesign.
