What you'll be doing
As a Pharmacy Technician, you will be an integral part of the multidisciplinary healthcare team, working to enhance the delivery and continuous development of quality pharmacy services. Your role will be central in assisting patients and clients with their health and wellbeing needs, ensuring that medications are dispensed safely and effectively. You will support the pharmacy services across various areas of practice, providing essential technical support in drug distribution, hospital pharmacy production, and dispensing activities.
Your contributions will help to maintain the smooth functioning of the pharmacy department, ensuring that medication management protocols are followed, stock levels are maintained, and patient safety is prioritised. Working closely with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals, you will support the development of pharmacy services while enhancing patient outcomes through your technical expertise and commitment to best practice in pharmacy care.

- Successful completion of a nationally recognised Pharmacy Technician Certificate Course at Certificate Level IV or has qualifications deemed by the employer to be equivalent.
- Demonstrated recent hospital experience as a Pharmacy Technician and ability to provide technical support in a hospital or community pharmacy setting in all areas of pharmacy practice, including drug distribution duties, pharmacy production and dispensing activities.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively use workplace information technology, experience with hospital pharmacy computer systems (e.g. iPharmacy), and an ability to learn new hospital computer systems.
- Demonstrated high-level customer service skills.
- Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated problem solving, organisational and time management skills and ability to prioritise work with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to work individually, and a commitment to teamwork to maintain effective working relationships.
- Demonstrated experience in providing training and supervision to staff.
