The Role

The Senior Physiotherapist (Palliative, Sub-Acute and Older Adults) plans, coordinates and implements in-depth clinical expertise and extensive specialised knowledge in order to provide high quality physiotherapy care to palliative, sub-acute and older adult[1] patients who receive care, within the Long Bay Hospital precinct and as required across the State at other Metropolitan and Rural Centres either in person or virtually. This position also supports the Justice Health Physiotherapy department provide care to older adults as required or able. This care is consistent with NSW Health, Justice Health and Forensic Mental Health Network (the Network) policies, procedures and standards [1] the term older adult refers to the patient population of 55 and older for non-Aboriginal or 45 and older in the Aboriginal & Torres Strait Island population. This classification is used because of the process of advanced ageing in the prison population.
