We are seeking a dedicated Administration Officer to support our oncology team in delivering exceptional patient care through efficient office management and administrative coordination.


Remuneration: $33.30 - $34.34 Per Hour + 11.5% Superannuation + Salary Packaging

The North West Cancer Centre at Tamworth Hospital, purpose-built cancer centre providing radiation oncology, medical oncology and haematology care for patients across the Northern half of Hunter New England Local Health District. The administration team supports medical, nursing, and allied health staff in a patient-centred approach to care. We are seeking two new staff members for a temporary contract until June 2025. 


Temporary Full-time - 38 hours per week

Temporary Part-time - 32 hours per week 



About the role: 
Reporting to and supported by the Administration Team Leader, you will provide administrative support to oncology clinics or to the infusion lounge. This will include providing consistent, high quality customer services as a person of first contact by phone, email and personal contact with patients, carers and health professionals. It encompasses all aspects of outpatient clinic administration, including accurate scheduling, facilitating patients attending clinics in person and via Telehealth, and billing. This role will fill day shifts Monday – Friday in the North West Cancer Centre, on a casual basis.


Where you'll be working:
You will work within a team of experienced administrators who will provide on the job training on commencement and ongoing support. Your Administration Team Leader will work with you to develop a training plan on commencement and support you with operational and procedural information to enable your success in the role.



About you:

  • You are a motivated, experienced administration officer with the resilience and empathy to work with cancer patients, their families and carers on a daily basis.
  • You have a dedication to excellence in customer service, a commitment to teamwork and the ability to be respectful in all communication exchanges.
  • You will have the ability to be adaptable and work efficiently and accurately within a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of medical terminology/typing is advantageous.
