Where you'll be working

Population and Community Health (PaCH) is part of South Eastern Sydney Local Health District.

PaCH provides community health services that give care to individuals, families and carers, as well as population health services that focus on the whole community or key groups within the community.

PaCH's services are provided at the District's hospitals, community-based facilities including child and family health centres, community health centres and specialist clinics. We work with other service providers across South Eastern Sydney Local Health District, including hospitals and mental health services.

The Role

This position will lead and manage the  Integrated Health Unit and implement strategies and health service planning functions to deliver on the District and Population and Community Health Action Plan.

The position will provide professional planning, direction and support, service development expertise and high level tactical advice to support the Districts integrated health are:

  • Informed by robust evidence from analyses of the relevant data as well as critical appraisal of the relevant literature.
  • Aligned with relevant Commonwealth, State and Local Health District strategic and policy directions and priorities.

This position is also a point of access for the integrated health in the District. The position holder is responsible for developing, managing and coordinating the preparation of briefings, reports, strategies, budgets, plans and business cases and general correspondence as required by the  Director and Deputy Director.

Selection Criteria

  1. Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or demonstrated equivalent, relevant professional experience.
  2. Demonstrated experience and leadership in senior management in a complex health organisation.
  3. Excellent understanding of contemporary issues in integrated health service design and delivery.
  4. Demonstrated ability in health service planning evaluation and performance monitoring.
  5. Demonstrated problem solving skills with proven record of achievement in managing projects and issues involving organisational change.
  6. Demonstrated high level communication and interpersonal skills specifically negotiation consultancy, liaison and report writing with an ability to engage a wide range of people including service providers, General Practitioners, service users and carers clinicians and health service mangers.
  7. Holds current drivers licence.
