What You'll Be Doing:
The vision for South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) is ‘exceptional care, healthier lives’. This position involves the accurate retrieval, creation, collation, filing, integration and computerised tracking of hybrid health records for Sydney and Sydney Eye Hospital (SSEH).

The Health Information Officer (Record Control) exists to provide an efficient and effective provision of service within all record control functions of the Health Information Unit (HIU) for SSEH. The Health Information Officer (Record Control) will be trained in all record control processes as required to meet the functional needs of the department.

Selection Criteria:

  1. Attention to detail and accuracy and ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
  2. Demonstrated flexibility in relation to duties, shift coverage and working hours.
  3. A demonstrated strong customer service approach.
  4. Effective time management skills, including the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
  5. Demonstrated initiative and ability to problem solve.
  6. Ability to work in both a team environment, including excellent interpersonal skills and an unsupervised environment.
  7. Computer literacy, including any hospital based information systems e.g. i.PM, eMR.
  8. Effective written and verbal communication skills, including excellent telephone skills.
