About the Opportunity
South Western Sydney Local Health District is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented Exercise Physiologist to join the Growing Healthy Kids Paediatric Weight Management Service. We strive to provide an integrated and family-oriented approach to supporting children and young people who are above a healthy weight and to help them develop positive health habits. You will work alongside a supportive multidisciplinary team which also includes administrative support.
This recruitment may be used to fill future permanent or temporary, full-time, part-time positions.
What You'll be Doing
This position is responsible for providing patient centered and high quality exercise physiology to clients in SWSLHD Growing Healthy Kids (GHK) Childhood Overweight and Obesity Management Service, including providing the facilitation of exercise programs to consumers as per caseload: provide and participate in education and evaluation; supervise students as appropriate; and participate in ongoing professional development. Growing Healthy Kids contributes to the NSW Premier's priority of a 5% reduction in child overweight and obesity by 2025.

- Bachelor degree in Exercise Physiology or Exercise and Sports Science (or equivalent) with eligibility for ESSA membership.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, undertake and supervise appropriate exercise programs for consumers of the service.
- Broad range of relevant exercise prescription skills and experience.
- Demonstrated experience in the prescription and delivery of chronic care exercise programs to consumers with varying health conditions and co-morbidities.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated high level communication skills (written and verbal) and computer skills.
- Evidence of commitment to Clinical Supervision and Professional Learning.
- Demonstrated understanding and commitment to quality processes and the application of evidence based practice within the field of exercise physiology.
- Demonstrated experience in the prescription and delivery of exercise to children and their families.
- Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
