We are currently recruiting for multiple Registered Nurse positions which will support Hunter New England Health to implement Safe Staffing Levels with Tamworth Emergency Department.

Why Tamworth Emergency Department:

Tamworth Hospital is one of New England's largest regional referral hospitals, with recently refurbished state-of-the-art facilities.

We are a level 5 Emergency Department with a co-located helicopter retrieval base. Our department specialises in Trauma, Neurology, Acute Stroke, Orthopaedic emergencies, Cardiology, Surgical emergencies, Paediatrics, and Mental Health.

You will work with a friendly, inclusive team supported by Clinical Nurse Educators, Nurse Manager, Clinical Nurse Unit Managers, Clinical Nurse Consultants and Nurse Practitioners. In addition, you will have 24hr onsite support from Medical staff that includes ED FACEMs and VMO’s, ED registrars and RMO’s . Our dynamic in-house ED Multidisciplinary team extends to Social Work, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, ASET, ACE and Pharmacists.   

With over 40,000 presentations annually, our ED offers a diverse and dynamic environment that includes a healthy mix of adult and paediatric patients. Our ED Models of Care include 3 resus bays, Acute Care, Emergency Short Stay Unit, Fast Track, and a designated Paediatric Emergency Unit.  You will be supported in all areas of the department and as one of the largest teaching and referral hospitals within Hunter New England, Tamworth is full of exciting opportunities for career progression in our highly skilled multi-disciplinary team.

In collaboration with our nursing and medical staff, Intensive Care Unit, Mental Health unit, Paediatric department and Allied Health, we conduct regular education sessions to create pathways to learning and building healthy working relationships across all disciplines. Our modern education facilities provide an excellent simulation environment to provide regular interactive learning opportunities within our Multi-Disciplinary Team.

Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme

This vacancy is eligible for an Attraction and Relocation package that includes the following*:  

 

  • Attraction incentive paid as a Rural and Regional fortnightly allowance of up to $10,000 for the first 12-months 
  • Retention incentive of up to $5,000 thereafter annually

*All payments and reimbursements made to part time employees will be on a pro-rata basis.  

 

Attraction incentives will be paid as a Rural and Regional fortnightly allowance on top of your base salary + 11.5% superannuation. 

 

Other forms of payment/package options (where you are eligible) need to be negotiated with the Convenor and may include**:    

 

  • Additional annual professional development days (up to 5 more per year) 
  • Additional personal leave (up to 5 more days per year)  
  • Computer/internet reimbursement (e.g. laptop, wi-fi costs) 
  • Return airfare to and from your work base (or equivalent motor vehicle allowance) so you can still visit family and friends 

 

**The total value of your incentive package would remain the same. Employees are responsible for seeking independent financial advice before accepting an Attraction and Retention Incentive package as part of their offer.   

 

Transferring of incentive packages will depend on the location, position, and time served by the health worker in their current position. Eligibility to transfer existing incentive packages will be determined and approved by the health organisation. Health workers who are receiving incentive packages and are changing or moving positions should discuss the impacts with their manager or local Workforce Rural Health Incentive Team via HNELHD-RuralIncentives@health.nsw.gov.au to discuss your eligibility prior to applying if you are already receiving an incentive package.
