About the Opportunity
South Western Sydney Local Health District is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented Clinical Dietitian to join the Growing Healthy Kids Paediatric Weight Management Service. We strive to provide an integrated and family-oriented approach to supporting children and young people who are above a healthy weight and to help them develop positive health habits. You will work alongside a supportive multidisciplinary team which also includes administrative support.

This recruitment may be used to fill future permanent or temporary, full-time, part-time positions.

 

What You'll be Doing
This position is responsible for providing patient centred and high quality nutrition services to patients in SWSLHD Growing Healthy Kids (GHK) Childhood Overweight and Obesity Management Service including providing nutritional care to patients as per caseload; provide and participate in education and evaluation; supervise students as appropriate; and participate in ongoing professional development.

Growing Healthy Kids contributes to the NSW Premier's priority of a 5% reduction in child overweight and obesity by 2025.

    1. Post graduate qualification or Bachelor in Nutrition and Dietetics as recognized by the Dietitians Association of Australia.
    2. Relevant clinical experience and good knowledge of current Dietetics Practices.
    3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including group education skills.
    4. Demonstrated understanding and commitment to quality processes and the application of evidence based practice within the field of Dietetics
    5. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of the team
    6. Demonstrated commitment to continued professional development and evidence based practice
    7. Excellent computer skills, including electronic medical record systems
    8. Demonstrated experience in the prescription and delivery of nutrition care to children and their families.
    9. Demonstrated knowledge and commitment to evidence based nutrition care in the field of obesity management.
    10. Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
