The Primary Care and Community Health Unit consists of 9 centres that provide a range of services for children, young people and their families, adults, older people and their carers. Our services range from health promotion, prevention and early detection through to assessment, treatment and continuing care. Our staff work in partnership with schools, GPs, hospitals, non-government agencies and other organisations to provide care across our centres, in people’s homes, other community venues as well as virtual care (telehealth).
On offer is an exciting opportunity to join the St Marys Community Health Centre team as a Dietitian. This position is working 1 day per week and is Permanent Part time.
Your role as the Dietitian is responsible for providing a specialist Dietetics service to the vulnerable families within the Sustaining NSW Families Program and provide high level clinical consultation, advocacy, education and support to the SNF team.
This role will see you contribute high level clinical expertise to case planning, case management as a part of the multidisciplinary health team and during case review/discussion meetings. You will ensure professional responsibilities are met including engagement in ongoing education/ training,participation in regular professional practice supervision, and providing supervision to less experienced staff and students.

What you will bring to the role
- Bachelor or post graduate degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent and eligibility for full membership of Dietitians Australia.
- Extensive Clinical experience and knowledge working in relevant clinical settings, providing assessment and interventions in paediatric Dietetics particularly in the infancy and early childhood period for children at risk of or experiencing feeding difficulties or poor nutritional intake.
- Demonstrated experience working in family partnership to respond to the needs of vulnerable families and the CALD community.
- Extensive experience in providing clinical consultation and facilitating case reviews/conferences, with use of well-developed interpersonal and conflict resolution skills within a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated ability to provide information, advice and education to other professionals including: anticipatory guidance, treatment intervention, and management strategies to facilitate progress and promote optimal Nutrition and wellbeing of the child.
- Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills, computer competence and ability to use electronic medical records, word processing and databases.
- Current Driver's Licence and willingness to use for work purpose travel. Ability to travel within the LHD in accordance with the position.
