We are excited to announce the expansion of the SESLHD Advanced Pharmacy Australia (AdPha) accredited Residency Program to the Southern end of town! Based in the St George Hospital Pharmacy Department, this new opportunity is perfect for a motivated and enthusiastic early career pharmacists and those transitioning to hospital practice.
 
Where you'll be working
 
St George Hospital in Kogarah is a leading tertiary referral and teaching hospital, renowned for delivering high-quality healthcare services to a diverse community. As part of the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District, the hospital provides a broad range of specialised care, including advanced cardiology, cancer treatment, and neonatal intensive care.
 
With approximately 500 beds and over 2,200 full-time equivalent staff, it is one of the largest hospitals in Sydney. Each year, the hospital admits around 50,000 patients and treats more than 800,000 outpatients.
 
Affiliated with the University of New South Wales, St George Hospital is a hub for medical education, research, and innovation. With state of the art facilities and a dedicated team of professionals, it is a trusted provider of compassionate and comprehensive healthcare. 
 
What you'll be doing
 
As a pharmacy resident, you’ll be immersed in contemporary pharmacy practice and gain exposure to a wide range of clinical and operational experiences and expertise. The structured two-year program includes a comprehensive curriculum designed to develop core skills and knowledge whilst rotating through medical and surgical specialties, operations/support, and an elective rotation in an area of interest.
 
Throughout your journey, you will be supported with various clinical assessment tools and mentors to help you reflect on and enhance your clinical practice. This is an excellent opportunity to grow professionally, refine skills, and make a meaningful impact to patients in a hospital setting. 
 
Your role involves providing clinical pharmacy services across SESLHD to ensure safe and appropriate medication use. You will rotate through clinical, operational (dispensary), and production teams as part of a structured schedule.
