About the role:

This role is pivotal in mentoring and supporting nurses to achieve and adhere to standards of practice and models of care. The CNE facilitates clinical teaching and learning, completes assessment, implementation and evaluation of education programs and coordinates orientation and education for new graduate nursing staff, undergraduate nurses, school-based trainees and Aboriginal Cadets including ongoing support and supervision.

This is a part time job share and days of work will be negotiated. This role will report directly to the Director of Nursing for Children Young People and Families, for operational management, professional leadership, and support. Professional education guidance and leadership is provided by the nurse educators in the team. Orientation to the role will be provided and any required upskilling or training for the role will be provided as needed.


About you:

The ideal candidate will have extensive paediatric nursing experience, knowledge, and skills. A passion for teaching is a must, with the ability to work well in a small team. Innovation is this space is always welcomed with new ways of teaching always open for exploration. The successful candidate will need to have excellent communication skills and can develop relationships with nurse unit managers and service managers for collaboration on the identification of learning needs and the provision of education and support.

Requirements: 

Our successful candidate will possess the following: 

  • Registered as a Nurse with AHPRA and who holds relevant paediatric clinical or education post registration qualifications or such education and clinical experience deemed appropriate.
