About the Role:
An exciting opportunity exists to join the First Steps Parenting Centre as a Child & Family Health Nurse/Midwife. Based at the Wallsend Health Campus, First Steps Parenting Centre is a secondary service supporting families with children aged 0-5 years who have yet to start school. Our multi-disciplinary team includes Child and Family Health Nurses, Social Workers, a Paediatrician, and a Speech Pathologist, working together to provide holistic, compassionate, and person-centred care.
As part of this role, you will:
- Work collaboratively with families to promote optimal child and family well-being.
- Provide support in areas such as sleep and settling, attachment and parent-child relationships, perinatal infant mental health, post-natal depression, adjustment to parenting, child behaviour, and complex feeding issues.
- Align your practice with the First 2000 Days Framework, ensuring safe, culturally appropriate, and evidence-based care.
- Receive support from a Nurse Manager, NUM, CNC, and experienced Child and Family Health Nurses/Midwives.
- Benefit from ongoing professional development, including education sessions, clinical supervision, and mentoring.

Requirements & Additional Information:
- Candidates must be registered with AHPRA and hold postgraduate qualifications in Child and Family Health Nursing.
- Candidates must be eligible to drive in NSW with a current driver's licence
- An eligibility list will be created for future permanent part time and temporary part time vacancies.
