Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Social Worker Level 1/2 for a permanent full time position within their Violence, Abuse & Neglect (VAN) team.
The Social Worker- Violence Abuse and Neglect (VAN) is responsible for providing strength based, trauma informed and culturally sensitive interventions and will be afforded the opportunity to develop practice across all clinical streams.
The position includes access to training and supervision and the opportunity to build strong professional networks. It is anticipated that career progression opportunities into more senior clinical roles will follow successful completion of the VAN development pathway. Our teams are supported to deliver evidence based and culturally safe interventions that operationalise the NSW Health Prevention and Response to Violence Abuse and Neglect (PARVAN) Framework, Service Standards, Guidelines and relevant Policy and Procedures.
About You
- You will have a Degree in Social Work and eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers and alignment with relevant professional practice standards.
- You have experience undertaking psychosocial assessment in the area of violence, abuse and neglect..
- You have a sound knowledge of the impact of trauma and the broader systemic issues that impact people who have experienced violence, abuse and neglect.
- You are self-motivated and skilled in time management, prioritising competing commitments, and managing and responding to stressful situations.

Working in Violence, Abuse and Neglect (VAN) on the Central Coast - Our services are dynamic, innovative, and leaders in trauma informed, culturally safe and strength based care. We have a primary role of establishing stabilisation and safety for children, young people, individuals and families and work across the health system to support healing and recovery, with a focus on increasing capacity and wellbeing.
