These are maternity relief positions and should the permanent incumbent require an early return from maternity leave, this contract of employment will cease with two weeks notice. Maternity relief positions can be for a period of up to 12 months, with the possibility of continued employment for up to a further 12 months for maternity leave reduced hours, therefore there are no claims to permanency. 

 
Central Coast Local Health District is seeking highly motivated, skilled, and compassionate Pharmacists (Full-time, Part-time, and Casual) to join their dynamic team as a Rotational Pharmacist Level 1/2. This opportunity offers a chance to be part of a leading healthcare service within the Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD), where you will contribute to the safe and effective use of medications to improve patient outcomes. As a pharmacist in this role, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, support clinical pharmacy tasks, and ensure patients receive optimal medication management and care.

As a pharmacist at Gosford Hospital, your key responsibilities will include providing structured clinical pharmacy services within the defined practice areas of clinical, dispensary, and production teams. You will be responsible for reviewing, validating, dispensing, compounding, and checking medicines according to local guidelines and training standards. You will also support and supervise pharmacy support staff, ensuring the safe and timely provision of medication. Your role will involve evaluating individual patient therapies, participating in quality use of medicines initiatives, and engaging in departmental projects to optimize medication practices. You will also be actively involved in advancing your professional knowledge through Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities, and contribute to the achievement of team goals and improved patient care.


About You  

  • You have a current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • You have recent clinical Drug Knowledge and Competence.
  • You will have a solid understanding of team nursing, with proven ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.   
  • You have strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences, along with proficiency in using information technology to enhance patient care.
  • You hold a valid Australian Drivers' Licence & willingness to travel if required.

This role will be based at Gosford Hospital, a leading facility within the CCLHD. You will have the opportunity to rotate through various sites within the district as part of your extended rotation schedule. The position offers an exciting and varied environment, where you will work collaboratively with a dedicated team of pharmacists, assistants, and technicians.
