If so, we would invite you to join our dedicated midwifery team as Clinical Midwifery Specialist in Complex Care and Safe Start.

The Clinical Midwife Specialist 2 Complex Care and SafeStart is a unique opportunity to join our midwifery leadership team, prioritising individualised woman and family centred care for women in our community with complex needs. The clinical specialist role is a distinctive opportunity to maintain a high level of clinical competency through antenatal, collaborative caseload planning and management, while collaborating on innovative opportunities for service growth.  The role prioritises integrated primary maternity care through collaboration with key stakeholders across the multidisciplinary team. As such the successful candidate requires excellent communication, time management, collaboration and relationship building skills to empower a supported and positive transition to motherhood for our valued consumers. Working under the SafeStart framework, you will lead the continued integration of psychosocial assessment for all women in our service, providing midwifery specialist consultation to ensure opportunities for coordinated care across a network of integrated health related services. Previous experience and a passion for perinatal mental health delivery is strongly desirable.

About You

  • You hold current authority to practice as a Registered Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), with relevant post-registration qualifications and a minimum of 3 years' experience working in the clinical area of your specified post-graduate qualification. And hold a current Australian Drivers Licence.
  • You demonstrate professional and ethical boundaries when working with complex situations as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure patient safety and well-being.
  • You excel at problem-solving, proactively engaging with women to address their needs and improve health outcomes.

This role works at various sites across the Central Coast Local Health District, willingness to travel between sites as needed is a requirement of the position.
