About the role
- We are looking for someone with strong nursing skills and Emergency Department experience to be part of our team.
- Our ideal applicant will have competence in Advanced Life Support, and cannulation. They will have a demonstrated understanding of working in an acute service and they will be caring for acute patients, aged care patients, and emergency presentations with the different care requirements.
- The suitable candidate will be willing to work in the Emergency Department, and complete First Line Emergency Course (FLECC) training.

- Scone is a town in the Upper Hunter Shire in the Hunter Region of New South Wales, Australia. At the 2021 census, Scone had a population of 6035 people. Scone is affordable and relaxed; Scone has the benefits of a country town with familiar friendly faces and true country experiences. Scone is less than 3 hours from Sydney, two hours from Newcastle and one and a half hours to Tamworth.
- It is known as 'The Horse Capital of Australia' and claims to be the second-largest horse breeding area in the world, after Kentucky in the United States. The equine focus of the town is reflected in numerous ways: it is the home to the Australian Stockhorse Association; the Hunter thoroughbred breeding industry which is reputedly the second largest breeding area in the world; the district has some of the country’s longest-established pony clubs; there is a thriving polo and polocrosse community.
- You will be working with a dedicated team of Registered Nurses, Endorsed Enrolled Nurses and Assistants in Nursing in supporting excellent care to our patients in collaboration with patients, families and carers. You will be supported with a Clinical Nurse educator and a Quality Coordinator on site Monday to Friday.

- The role is supported by an enthusiastic team of dedicated staff, onsite orientation is provided, and ongoing education is encouraged. Staff are supported to complete FLECC/CRANA and critical care certificates.
- We have one Nurse in our emergency department, support is provided by the medical staff who are on call. Senior Emergency staff support junior staff to develop their emergency skills. Orientation is supernumery onsite
- You will be supported by Health Service Manager, Clinical Manager, Nurse Unit Managers in Maternity Unit and Operating Theatre/ Day Stay Unit along with the facility Clinical Nurse Educator, Quality Coordinator.

Requirements:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
- Recent acute clinical experience in Emergency and evidence of advanced clinical practice skills and competence in Advanced Life Support, Triage, and Cannulation.
- Experienced and capable of leading a team in resuscitation, competent in A-G patient assessment, primary and secondary survey and ISBAR communication.
