Inverell Hospital is seeking a Casual Administration Support Officer to provide vital support across multiple departments, including the Medical Ward, Emergency, Maternity, Renal Unit, and Medical Records.


Where You Will Be Working

Inverell Hospital is part of the Hunter New England Local Health District, providing vital healthcare services to the community. Inverell Hospital has a rich history dating back to 1887, when the original hospital was established to serve a population of approximately 1,600 inhabitants. Over the years, the hospital has expanded and evolved to meet the growing healthcare needs of the Inverell community. Inverell Hospital, is a 52-bed public facility and offers a range of services, including 24/7 emergency care, as well as general surgery, maternity, and rehabilitation and medical imaging.

About the Role

The Administration Team is dedicated to supporting patients and clinical staff through high-quality administrative assistance, ensuring smooth hospital operations. This role is to provide vital leave cover for our administration tea. This will involve front-line customer service and administrative support across multiple hospital departments. 
You'll use various software programs to manage records, handle inquiries, assist with patient admissions, while ensuring confidentiality and accuracy in all tasks.

What We are looking for

We are looking for a highly organised and adaptable team player who can work at short notice to cover last-minute sick leave and provide ADO relief with rosters set two weeks in advance. 
The ideal candidate will have strong multitasking skills, proficiency in various computer programs, and keen attention to detail in interpreting customer needs.
Excellent phone etiquette, relationship-building skills, and a flexible, proactive approach are essential for success in this role.
Previous experience in a similar role within a health service setting would be helpful though not essential.
