Nepean Hospital is a teaching hospital that provides tertiary referral services in emergency care, coronary care, diagnostics, gynaecology, paediatric, neonatal intensive care/ICU, maternity, mental health, rehabilitation, and surgery. The Nepean Campus has recently experienced tremendous growth and aims to support communities within and outside of Sydney’s western suburbs, providing world-class clinical facilities, services, and care.

The Cardiac Technologist will demonstrate skills and knowledge in the field of Cardiac Investigations Services such, Echocardiograms, Holter monitoring, ECGs, Device checks and Cardiac Catheter Lab procedures and will  provide safe and efficient cardiac service to the clients of NBMLHD by ensuring best practice models are adopted.

As the successful candidate, you will maintain and promote professional standards evidenced by ethical cardiac technologist practice, adhering to the policies and standards of Cardiac Services NBMLHD.

What you will bring to the role

  1. Grade1: Holds a Bachelor of Science Degree or qualifications or competencies deemed equivalent by the employer; OR Grade2: Post Graduate Degree in Sonography or qualifications or competencies deemed equivalent by the employer and ASAR accreditation as a qualified sonographer level/ EPS Physiologist.
  2. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and support a harmonious work environment.
  3. Proven ability to interpret findings and make decisions about additional imaging as required during the course of each test as well as to recognise and communicate significant findings as required.
  4. Understanding and experience with various echocardiographic machines/ EPS Systems, their operation and day to day running and maintenance.
  5. Demonstrated ability to provide services to patients in a professional, courteous, respectful and gentle manner.
