About the role:
We’re searching for an analytical thinker with exceptional attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, and a passion for working with data. You will be confident in independent critical thinking while also thriving in a collaborative, small-team environment. As a Biostatistician you will play a vital role in supporting public health initiatives by analysing and interpreting data related to influenza, COVID-19 and participatory surveillance. You will work closely with a dedicated team and together, you will contribute to meaningful health outcomes through data-driven insights.
Based in the Health Protection Team in Hunter New England Population Health, you will work alongside world-class health professionals who are leaders in their chosen fields. Population Health monitors health threats and diseases, responds to environmental and communicable disease threats, and promotes policies, environments, and behaviours that improve health.

- Strong analytical skills and experience with statistical software packages such as SAS and R.
