About the Opportunity 
Exciting opportunity to affect real change in improving Aboriginal workforce participation within the Local Health District. The Aboriginal Workforce Team is looking for a passionate, organised and driven individual who will work in a hybrid workplace model allocated specifically to supporting our Fairfield, Bankstown and Liverpool hospitals (on a rotational weekly basis) to support Aboriginal Employment outcomes. 

 

This role works with all levels of staff therefore excellent communication, negotiation, and project co-ordination skills are required , including advocacy skills and the ability to facilitate and organise events/ meetings with internal and external stakeholders.

 

Experience in Aboriginal employment is desirable however on the job training and support will be provided by the Aboriginal Workforce Team.

 

What You'll be Doing
The role of the Aboriginal Workforce Development Coordinator supports the development and coordination of workforce initiatives for the local Aboriginal community across five key areas: Recruitment, Retention, Career Progression and Professional Development, Community Engagement and Cultural Responsiveness.

 

The SWSLHD Aboriginal Workforce team is based within the People and Culture Directorate and includes the Aboriginal Workforce Manager and Aboriginal Workforce Development Coordinator.

  2. This role involves working closely with Hospital and Community Service Managers, community organizations, and Aboriginal staff throughout the District.   3. This role involves coordinating and supporting various programs, including the Aboriginal Traineeships and Cadetships. Can you provide an example of a program or project you have coordinated or supported? Please outline the skills you applied in this process.
  4. Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
