An excellent opportunity is now available for an Operations Assistant to join the team in Nepean Theatres team working in either a full time or part time position.
The Operations Assistant supports health professionals in the delivery of patient care. Under the direction of Medical and Nursing staff, the Operations Assistant maintains and provides equipment that assists in patient care delivery and is responsible for the transportation of perioperative surgical patients throughout the facility. This role will be required to work shifts, on a 24/7 rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.

What you will bring to the role:
- Previous experience in one or more areas of this role – preferably working with people in a care setting, undertaking cleaning duties, manual handling and/or providing general assistance in a health or aged care setting.
- Be able to meet the physical demands of the position as listed in the physical requirements in the position description.
- Good communication skills in English - both written and verbal. Ability to communicate effectively across a multi-disciplinary work environment upholding the CORE principles of the organisation.
- Able to demonstrate a clear understanding of Work Health and Safety and Safe Work Practices, including safe manual handling and display a thorough knowledge of Infection Control guidelines and policies.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, completing set tasks effectively.
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a team, supporting others and taking directions from supervisors or other staff as appropriate.
- Willingness to work within an operating theatre environment,around surgical procedures, as part of the broader care Team, with the ability to effectively demonstrate problem solving, time management and prioritisation skills in a Multidisciplinary Surgical work environment.
- Ability and willingness to work shifts, on a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.
