What you'll be doing
Are you ready to make an impact in a dynamic healthcare environment? We’re seeking a Nursing Executive Officer to provide high-level, comprehensive executive support to the Director of Nursing and Midwifery at Westmead Hospital.
This pivotal role requires exceptional business management skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, complex, and confidential setting. You’ll be the go-to person for delivering efficient, effective support that keeps operations running smoothly.
As the Nursing Executive Officer, you’ll provide comprehensive executive support to the Director of Nursing & Midwifery, ensuring efficient business management in a fast-paced, confidential environment.
Deliver accurate, high-quality reports and executive documents under tight deadlines
Manage delegated projects and drive system improvements across the directorate
Coordinate key events and stakeholder engagement initiatives
Maintain robust information systems and provide timely analysis for decision-making
Support committees with agenda preparation, presentations, and follow-up actions

Essential Requirements
Current registration as a Registered Nurse/Midwife with AHPRA
Selection Criteria
Demonstrate experience in working in a high volume and high pressure senior executive environment which demands confidentiality, flexibility and discernment.
Demonstrate the capacity to manage competing priorities of a diverse, complex nature, and an ability to support, prioritise and achieve business and/or organisational goals.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, on Nursing and Midwifery Quality initiatives using a high level of critical thinking whilst exercising initiative and sound judgement in challenging situations.
Demonstrate the ability to build relationships, communicate and liaise with key internal and external stakeholders to support accurate reporting, oversight of issues and progress against actions, and the provision of written and verbal responses/ reports to senior executive management.
Demonstrate high level administrative, written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to prepare and review a range of complex documentation, including but not limited to briefing notes, executive reports, policies and procedures, frameworks, presentations and advice to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
Demonstrate an advanced ability in the use of a variety of computer software, including HPE Content Manager, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook.
Demonstrated project development and management skills.
