What you'll be doing
As District Aboriginal Nurse Manager, you will provide strategic leadership and expert advice to enhance Aboriginal health systems, pathways, and nursing/midwifery models of care. Your role will influence clinical workflows, patient outcomes, and cultural safety across the district.
Lead initiatives to improve Aboriginal health outcomes through nursing and midwifery
Collaborate with senior executives, clinicians, and Aboriginal communities
Champion culturally appropriate models of care for women, children, and families
Drive implementation of NSW Health policies and evidence-based practices
Represent Aboriginal health priorities in clinical information systems and care models

Essential Criteria:
Registration in line with Award requirements: Current Registration with Australian Health practitioner Regulatory Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse
Evidence of Diversity claim if applicable (state which category): Confirmation of Aboriginality
Selection Criteria:
Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent. Aboriginality is a genuine occupational qualification and is authorised by section 14(d) of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977.
Demonstrated experience in liaising effectively and working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, to facilitate cooperation and support in achieving outcomes, specifically for Aboriginal Nursing and Midwifery.
Demonstrated leadership and management skills including a demonstrated ability to negotiate resolutions and manage conflict.
Be a quick learner and ability to work under pressure, ability to independently prioritise workload in response to shifting and emerging priorities across several sites.
Well-developed interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills including the ability to effectively use problem solving, change management and conflict resolution frameworks.
Demonstrated ability to work as an effective part of an interdisciplinary team and to build relationships.
Proven ability to use information and reporting systems appropriate to the position.
Current NSW drivers' licence and ability to travel within WSLHD.
