About The Role:

The JHH Neurophysiology Team is a small, highly skilled group of professionals providing advanced neurophysiology testing to patients of all ages — across the spectrum of physical, cognitive, and psychological health. As part of the large and progressive Neurology Services of JHH and JHCH, we are proud to contribute to the Hunter New England expert team of epileptologists and neurophysiologists.

We are seeking a proactive, organised, and enthusiastic individual to join our team as the Neurophysiology Booking Clerk. In this role, you will be the main point of contact for patients, clinicians, and key stakeholders, both within JHH and from external hospitals. You will coordinate and schedule a wide range of neurophysiology appointments, maintain waitlists, and help ensure our technicians and consultants can provide timely, high-quality care to our patients.

  • Coordinate and schedule neurophysiology appointments for patients of all ages.

  • Maintain accurate waitlists and patient records to support timely care delivery.

  • Liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders including doctors, nurses, technicians, and administrative teams.

  • Provide clear, compassionate communication to patients and families regarding appointments and procedures.

  • Support the smooth operation of the Neurophysiology Unit within the broader Neurology Department.

 

About You:

You will bring a positive, can-do attitude and a genuine interest in supporting patients and clinicians in a busy hospital environment. You thrive in a multidisciplinary team, are eager to learn new systems and processes, and can adapt flexibly to solve logistical and administrative challenges

  • Demonstrated high-level organisational and administrative skills.

  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with patients and healthcare professionals.

  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new systems and processes.

  • Experience in hospital administration or medical scheduling is desirable but not essential.
