About The Role:
This is a fantastic opportunity to lead and inspire during an exciting time of transformation, including:
The implementation of the Single Digital Patient Record (SDPR), launching in March 2026
The relocation to the brand-new John Hunter Acute Services Building in 2026
You will provide day-to-day supervision and leadership to administrative staff, driving efficiency, supporting development, and ensuring smooth operations within Surgical Services. Your responsibilities will include rostering, recruitment, WH&S, managing backfill arrangements, chairing meetings, and contributing to strategic planning and service improvement initiatives.
Lead and manage a team of 30+ administrative staff across Theatres and SDDOS
Ensure timely and accurate delivery of administrative and clerical support services
Support the implementation of new digital systems and transition to a state-of-the-art facility
Prepare complex reports and correspondence for diverse audiences
Develop, review, and maintain administrative processes to enhance service delivery
Manage workforce functions including recruitment, induction, performance management, and professional development
Foster a proactive, adaptable, and supportive team environment during periods of change
What We Are Looking For:
Proven experience in an administrative team leader role, ideally in a healthcare setting
Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritise workload effectively
Confident user of hospital systems and Microsoft Office suite
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a passion for supporting frontline health services
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, working both independently and collaboratively
