Nepean Hospital is a teaching hospital that provides tertiary referral services in emergency care, coronary care, diagnostics, gynaecology, paediatric, neonatal intensive care/ICU, maternity, mental health, rehabilitation, and surgery. A fabulous opportunity is now available for Enrolled Nurses to become a Permanent employee to Nepean Hospital working in the Permanent Nurse Pool. On offer are Full time and Part time roles that will cover many different areas of the hospital from Surgical, Medical, Aged Care and Critical Care.

Your role as the Enrolled Nurse will see you work with the Registered Nurse (RN) as part of the health care team and demonstrates competence in the provision of person-centred care. At all times, the EN retains responsibility for his/her actions and remains accountable in providing delegated nursing care. 

Although the scope of practice for each Enrolled Nurse will vary according to context and education, the EN has a responsibility for ongoing self and professional development to maintain their knowledge base through life-long learning, and continue to demonstrate the types of core nursing activities that an EN would be expected to undertake on entry to practice.

This position will see you provide provision of safe patient care, provision of care activities to patients in accordance with the nursing care plan and under the supervision of a Registered Nurse within the scope of practice of an Enrolled Nurse specific to service need and contribute to collecting accurate health care information and maintaining accurate health care documentation as required.

What you will bring to the role:

  1. Current registration Division 2 (without notation) - Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  2. Demonstrated experience and clinical skill in Acute Care Nursing as an Enrolled Nurse(Including completion of 1 year post registration experience or equivalent experience working as an Enrolled Nurse)”
  3. Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work
  4. Demonstrated evidence of being able to provide person centred care
  5. Demonstrated effective communication skills – written and verbal
  6. Experience working in a multidisciplinary team.
  7. Ability to work a flexible rotating roster across 7 day’s week, including morning, evening and night shifts
