Are you an organised, reliable and proactive administrator who enjoys variety, working with people and keeping things moving? Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital is looking for a Clinical Support Officer to join our Nursing & Midwifery Services team. This is an opportunity to work closely with senior nursing and midwifery leadership and make a practical contribution to the workforce and day-to-day operation of a major regional hospital.

About the Team

The Clinical Support Officer works within Nursing & Midwifery Services and is closely connected to the hospital's nursing and midwifery leadership team. You will be part of a busy and collaborative environment where strong organisation, communication and follow-through make a genuine difference.

You will receive a structured orientation to the role, key contacts, systems and local processes. Expectations and priorities will be clear, with regular communication and opportunities to ask questions, learn and progressively build your confidence and independence.

About the role

This is an on-site position, due to the operational nature of the role providing, direct administrative and coordination support to the Deputy Director of Nursing & Midwifery (DDONM) and the broader Nursing & Midwifery Services team.

You will become a key point of contact for nursing and midwifery workforce matters and help ensure important processes are coordinated and completed effectively.

  • Supporting equipment, purchasing and other operational requirements within the scope of the role.
  • Managing a diverse range of administrative priorities and ensuring tasks are followed through to completion.
  • Liaising with staff and managers across the hospital and providing professional and responsive customer service.

There are no direct reports. You will work closely with, and receive day-to-day direction from, the DDONM.vThis role will suit someone who enjoys being organised, staying one step ahead, solving problems and being the person others can rely on to get things done.

The preferred appointment is 36 hours per week across five days, Monday to Friday, with usual commencement around 8:00–8:30am. Some flexibility in the daily work pattern can be discussed with the successful applicant.

Part-time applicants may also be considered where the proposed arrangement can provide appropriate five-day service coverage.

About you

Reliability and organisation are at the heart of this role.

  • Proactive and able to use initiative to anticipate what needs to happen next.
  • Comfortable working with people at all levels.
  • Adaptable and able to respond positively when priorities change.
  • Confident asking questions and seeking clarification when required.
  • Willing to learn new systems, processes and ways of working.
  • Committed to providing high-quality administrative support.
