We provide specialised outpatient care for children and young people experiencing chronic and complex pain, supporting them and their families through a trauma-informed framework. You'll work alongside a fun and effective interdisciplinary team, including a Pain Specialist, Clinical Nurse Consultant, Clinical Psychologist, Physiotherapist, and Admin Officer. This role allows you to make a meaningful impact through client-focused assessment, formulation, and treatment while engaging in creative therapy approaches to build rapport and collaborate with young clients. You'll benefit from a highly supportive environment, including individual supervision and regular peer supervision with John Hunter Children’s Hospital psychologists. Additionally, you'll have access to Explain Pain Training and the opportunity to work alongside an experienced Clinical Psychologist specialising in paediatric pain.
What We’re Looking For:
- Confidence in your role as a psychologist, with at least five years of experience post-graduation
- Experience working with children, young people, and families OR with complex pain
- Strong knowledge of trauma-informed practice
- Excellent communication skills to thrive in a fast-paced, team-focused environment
- Ability to provide face-to-face and telehealth support to disadvantaged clients

Essential Criteria:
- Current registration as a Psychologist with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Completion of an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council accredited postgraduate clinical psychology qualification of no less than two years full time duration or recognised equivalent, displayed on the Psychology Board of Australia website.
