Are you passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of children and their families? We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional to join the Psychology Department at John Hunter Children’s Hospital.


About the Role

In this dynamic position, you will support children, adolescents, and their families facing a wide range of medical and psychological challenges. You will:

  • Work closely with inpatients experiencing acute medical concerns and outpatients managing long-term conditions.
  • Provide psychological therapy to support adjustment to acute and chronic health conditions, as well as address developmental, behavioural, or psychological factors affecting recovery.
  • Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team alongside highly skilled medical and allied health professionals.
  • Deliver individual therapy, family interventions, and group interventions for children and young people, from toddlers to adolescents.

Essential Criteria:

  • Current registration as a Psychologist with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Completion of an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council accredited postgraduate clinical psychology qualification of no less than two years full time duration or recognised equivalent, displayed on the Psychology Board of Australia website.
