Wyong Hospital is seeking a Nursing Unit Manager (NUM) for a permanent, part-time position at 24 hours per week. This is an excellent opportunity to lead a dynamic team, manage nursing staff, and provide high-quality patient care in alignment with the strategic directions of the Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD). As the NUM, you will be at the forefront of ensuring that the ward/unit operates efficiently, effectively, and safely, while fostering a collaborative environment that prioritizes patient-centered care. You will be a role model for your team, inspiring trust, collaboration, and excellence in patient care.
As the Nursing Unit Manager, you will be responsible for the coordination and management of patient services, ensuring optimal care delivery across all aspects of the unit. You will lead and support your nursing team by facilitating collaborative care, utilising patient and carer feedback, and ensuring evidence-based practices are maintained. Your role will also encompass managing the physical, human, and financial resources of the ward/unit, as well as monitoring the achievement of key performance indicators related to patient care, safety, and flow. You will be responsible for fostering a culture of continuous improvement and ensuring your team is well-equipped and motivated to deliver high-quality care in a safe environment.
About You
- You have current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with relevant post-registration qualifications.
- You have extensive recent post-registration clinical experience and knowledge of current nursing and midwifery issues in emergency medicine.
- You have a current Drivers' Licence.
- You have proven leadership and management skills, with a demonstrated ability to effectively lead, manage, and support a clinical team in a fast-paced environment.
