About the role
- The Occupational Therapist (Level 1/2 rotational) has a responsibility for the provision of integrated, patient centered and evidence based Occupational Therapy services to patients across the St. Vincent's Hospital Campus
- The clinical specialty areas that this position will provide Occupational Therapy services to include: General Medicine/Surgery, Cardiology, Geriatrics, Orthopedics, Stroke, Neurology and Neurosurgery as well as Rehabilitation and Palliative Care inpatients and community
- This position operates under direct supervision of a Senior Occupational Therapist. The level of direct clinical supervision will vary according to the incumbent's clinical experience and the task
- The Level 1/2 Occupational Therapist is encouraged to participate in workplace education, quality improvement activities and relevant research
- This position may also assist in development of policies and procedures and supervision of Occupational Therapy students on placement
- This position may be required to work weekends to help facilitate a seven-day acute service
About you
- You're a qualified and AHPRA-registered Occupational Therapist
- Provide integrated, patient centred and evidence based Occupational Therapy Service to inpatients and outpatients across St Vincent's Hospital campus, including picking up new referrals, review of patients and continuation of therapy in relevant clinical area. Depending on caseload, assistance may be requested in another clinical area to ensure hospital wide clinical demand is met. This position may require flexibility to complete weekend work as part of a flexible working roster for a seven-day acute service
- Demonstrate effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders including working within a multi-disciplinary team to effectively manage novel and complex cases such as NDIS and provide coordinated, patient centred care
- Demonstrate effective time management and organizational skills to effectively prioritise both clinical and non-clinical tasks within finite resources to ensure delivery of optimum standards
- Participate in regular clinical supervision and provide relevant supervision to students and other Level 1/2 staff and support staff as necessary
- Evaluation of Occupational Therapy Services including the collection of appropriate activity data and outcome information. Participation in Quality Improvement and research within Occupational Therapy
